Anyway, I want to write today to vent out some feelings that were inside me.
Here it goes...
I actually just came back form Cambodia recently, so I managed to experience life there for like a few days. Even though I went to Siem Reap only, the scene there was so saddening. To see all the people there so poor and sometimes starved and have no place to live makes me want to go tehre and help. Too bad I can't... Anyway, I was also impressed at their determination to succeed and their dreams. Many of them actually are learning other languages besides their cambodian language - like English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean... They believe that by learning these languages, they can have a better life and earn a better living. The people there are also still friendly despite of their poverty. Way to go, Cambodians!! :)
Next, I went to my aunt's house. Not that it was boring, but it was mostly about my brother playing DOTA with my cousins, and me sitting aside and watching TV or doing something else. How boring can it be?
And mum, boys don't normally study, even when you tell them to. More so when the holidays come after their trials. So don't keep pressuring dear brother of mine to study, maybe asking him to flip through a little bit is okay, but not sit there and study unless he wants to do so. Boys will always be boys. I mean, sometimes you will encounter boys who are very studious, and I mean ALL THE TIME. We teenagers have a term for these kids - NERDS. You know my brother...
And BRIAN, you do know that your PMR is coming soon right? Don't you think with 1 month to spare, it's time to study and strengthen your weaknesses? I'm not asking you to become a NERD and sit there 24/7, but for your own good, please just sit there sometimes and flip through those reference books, or even do some of the exercises. Believe me, they will help you in the future. I'm also not asking you to give up on fun, after all 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'. I believe you understand this idiom, if not, FLIP THE DICTIONARY!!
Phew, that's all for now. Thanks for listening! :)
XOXO,
Audrey Leow
